Scott Karr has experience as a flight paramedic, flight nurse, hazardous materials specialist, K-9 officer, Department of Homeland Security certified instructor, and certified local emergency manager.
He has responded to numerous significant local, state, and national incidents ranging from hazardous materials incidents to hurricanes and deployed as a federal employee.
He has over 30 years in public service.

Scott holds master’s degrees in education and nursing, bachelor’s degrees in political science and nursing, and associate’s degrees in emergency medical services and nursing.
He is an Alabama licensed Paramedic, Nationally Registered Paramedic, Registered Nurse, certified Firefighter I/II, and a sworn law enforcement officer.

He has also developed and directed decontamination and medical support for chemical warfare agent remediation operations.
